Air transport is vital for connecting Melilla with mainland Spain. The airport guarantees daily communication with the Mainland. The air link is currently provided by the Iberia affiliate, Air Nostrum. The company offers around twelve flights a day to Malaga, as well as two a day to Almeria, Barcelona and Madrid, and one to Granada.
