LOCATION
The city of Melilla is
a European enclave which is located in the North African
region of Kelaya, or 'the place of castles', which has
led the area to be known as the Castille of Africa. The
area lies in the north-eastern corner of the Maghreb known
as the Rif. Melilla is on the northern Mediterranean coast
of the continent of Africa, facing the area of Andalucian
coast off which lies the Sea of Alborán.
Climate:
Melilla enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with an average
annual temperature of 18 degrees centigrade. Despite the
winds, the wonderful climate ensures that the visitor
can plan all kinds of outdoor activities.
